Citation
Changelog Model 2 Emulator v1.1 et v1.1a :

Update after long time silent. This is a version that has been sitting in my HD for some years.

- Fixed sound output only outputting mono audio
- Added customizable pixel shader for texture replacement (see model2lua.txt)
- Fixed Emulator->Exit not saving configuration
- The emulator will now try to use pixel shader 2.0 when pixel shader 3.0 is unavailable
- Added Full screen antialiasing (fsaa=1 in emulator.ini)
- Fixed some 3D errors in dynamite cop causing low res textures to be used
- Fixed texture replacement when two textures share the same tag data
Model 2 Emulator v1.1. This package includes both the normal and MultiCPU versions exes.

Usual "a" release fixing bugs.

- Added back the game options that were removed in the previous version due to compilation issues (Cheats & options, dump texture cache, reload LUA script)
- Fixed texture replacement that was also removed.
- Diferent alpha filtering code that should improve the extra lines in some textures.

MESS v0.146u4 Changelog:

0.146u4

MAMETesters Bugs Fixed
----------------------
(none)

New System Drivers Supported:
-----------------------------
(none)

Systems Promoted from GAME_NOT_WORKING:
---------------------------------------
(none)

Skeleton drivers:
-----------------
(none)

System Driver Changes:
----------------------
-vt100: Fix vt100 to use beep instead of speaker. Some work still needs to be
done to beep.c since the phase needs to be reset in such a way that
keyclicks work consistently, in addition to beeps. [Lord Nightmare]

-vt100: Added missing dot stretching to the DEC VT100's dc012 emulation. See
EK-VT100-TM-003 page 4-76 for a description. Note the stretching takes
place after the character rom but before invert or other attributes.
[Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: hook up vblank interrupt (critical selftest now passes); add
layout for LEDS, beginning of skeleton keyboard support.
[Lord Nightmare]

-exelvision: use correct vsm rom [robcfg, kevtris]

-vk100: Correct the labels of several proms which were unreadable on the vk100
that they were dumped from [nigwil]

-vk100: attach keyboard [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: miscellaneous progress, slight cleanup to keyboard, stubbed and
implemented a bunch of vector generator addresses [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: figured out pattern rom addressing [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: implemented stubs for the rest of the VG registers
[Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: implemented or stubbed the rest of the io registers, left
SYSTAT_A commented for now since its behavior is unclear. Added and
attached the dipswitches to SYSTAT_B (though this may well be wrong)
Hooked up the i8251 uart preliminarily (ints not hooked up yet)
[Lord Nightmare]

-mc1502: added cassette input, keyboard input fix. [shattered]

-iskr1031, ec1841: split machine descriptions from pc16, remove hacks
from pc16 and ibm5550. [shattered]

-ec1841: mirror chargen memory at b800:1000 -- fixes video test 501 on
TPS (diagnostics) disk. [shattered]

-ec1841: implement memory controller (only for 1 board yet), no support
for remapping banks inside the board. Memory test in POST passes.
[shattered]

-vk100: WIP: preliminary gfx rendering; hooked up the i8251 interrupts.
Corrected dipswitch locations. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: Initial implementation of the vector generator. Rather buggy, and not
really readable yet, but it definitely shows something on screen, and
you can type and see things change! (and you see a blinking cursor
too!) [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: further improvements to the vector generator, still not
completely correct. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: FINALLY fixed the vector generator. Display looks relatively
sane now. Fixed shift and capslock being reversed and added
port_toggle to capslock. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: preliminary direction support for basic vectors. doesn't quite
work right yet. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: Add more debugging defines, remove some unneeded code, and
added more comments to TODO and to some registers. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: vector generator uses "real" timing instead of drawing the
vector instantly. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: update comments to reflect that the pr1 prom is clearly the
VECTOR ROM. Add notes about what each address bit does or is thought
to do. (the tech manual documentation is lousy, but is better than
nothing). [Lord Nightmare]

-geniusiq: Added PCB layout for the German Version. [TeamEurope]

-vk100: minor cleanups to variable names, documented as much of the
address info of the sync and direction proms as I could figure so far.
[Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: vector timing callback rate is now definitely correct; the tech
manual had an annoying error which made this hard to figure out.
[Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: figured out bits 3,2,1 of SOPS register and implemented
blinking and documented serial multiplexer based on these findings.
Also fixed a stupid bug in the display code which broke the reverse
video bit. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: properly hooked up dipswitches through the SYSTAT_A register
bit d2. Got rid of some dead palette code. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: Fixed the weird ordering of the dipswitches, so everything now
controls what it should. [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: Add the two previously-missing PROMs (not hooked up yet);
Update notes a bit, correct location for the main roms according to
tech manual (it turns out you count from the lower right corner
upward, not upper right downward). [Lord Nightmare, Balrog, Andy V.]

-vk100: Comment wrangling and some analysis of the newly dumped proms.
Still some work to be done here especially on the vector prom.
[Lord Nightmare]

-vidbrain: Fixed graphics corruption in Lemonade Stand. [Sean Riddle]

-vidbrain: Fixed memory map, improved colors. [Sean Riddle]

-mc1502: preliminary floppy support. Still not functional [shattered]

-pc: fixes the sound in Arkanoid, which doesn't use the 8253 at all.
[shattered]

-llc1: [Robbbert]
* Identified monitor keys
* Turns out new monitor rom is also a bad dump
* Added patches to make the system usable

-vk100: more comment updates based on shared info from VT125 tech
manual [Lord Nightmare]

-vk100: slight documentation updates, traced sync rom A4 completely.
[Lord Nightmare]

Software Lists:
----------------
-pico.xml: added more Japanese dumps [TeamEurope]

-a800.xml: Another small addition to the a800 softlist. [K1W1]

-apple1.xml: Added proper wav for aslite [Anon]

Source Changes:
----------------
-m68k: Handle higher-value constants in FMOVECR [R. Belmont]

-Moved TMS9901/9902 from mess/machine to emu/machine [Michael Zapf]

-AM9517 DMA controller enhancements, adapted PC drivers to use it
[Carl]

-pccga: ec1841 not only mirrors the chargen buffer, but also
byte-swaps it [shattered]

* Use XTAL values for CPU clocks

- legionna.c: Added priority BPROM to the Heated Barrel sets. Corrected
rom names and added PCB locations. [Smitdogg, The Dumping Union]

- PORT_ADJUSTER now accepts PORT_MINMAX as well. [Couriersud]

- Implemented a generic implementation to model discrete net lists.
[Couriersud]
* Based on timeslot modelling, the implementation models gate delays
in logic chips.
* Design ready to be split into a generic and a MAME implementation
part.
* Design prepared to merge in discrete components from discrete.*
* Supports code based as well as external net list parsing.
Ultimately, net lists and discrete emulation should share one code
base. The class design was set up to accomplish this. There is no
point in having multiple 555, 7474 implementations around. Most of the
code will be moved to lib/netlist going forward to allow usage in
other projects.

- Pong now uses netlist.h. This implementation reproduces all gate
timing and 555 related effects as described by Dr. H. Holden in his
2012 publication "ATARI PONG E CIRCUIT ANALYSIS & LAWN TENNIS".
[Couriersud]

- cshooter.c: Added dipswitch locations to the Air Raid & Cross Shooter

a result, another 500 or so sets have been added to the gamelist.
[David Haywood]

Source Changes
--------------
- Naomi/Chihiro documentation update [f205v]

- seta.c: Added PCB layout & dipswitch locations for Magic Speed.
[Brian Troha]

- Placed some handlers for the DM01 board into bfm_sc4 - once we can
confirm more games are on the hardware, this can move into the main
driver. [James Wallace)

- CPS-1 update [Team CPS-1]:
* Dumped and added CA22B.1A PAL to cawingj (Kold666)

- Hooked up inputs in DS Telejan [Angelo Salese]

- xain.c: Corrected rom labels for Solar Warrior / Xain'd Sleena.
[Smitdogg, The Dumping Union]

- Found more games that use the DMD01, hooked those up, and cleaned up
the interface hooks. Cleaned up Scorpion 4 sets. [David Haywood]

- z800x: Handle vectored interrupts correctly. [Christian Grössler]

- m72.c: Hooked up mcu to imgfightj. [David Haywood]

- 04862: smashtv and clones: Smash T.V. crashes while a game begins.
[Phil Bennett]

- fixed memory leak in libflac/libflac/md5.c (fixes memory issues with
chdman) [Oliver Stöneberg]

- Added cycle exact potentiometer and keyboard support to pokey device
[Couriersud].

- Fixed sprite colors in Bikkuri Card and Chance Kun
[Smitdogg, Angelo Salese]

- megatech.c: added a new revision of the bios [iGREKKESS, ElBarto]

- Added some bits to get the V53 (V33 core) running at least some sane
sound code for hng64.c There is no sound yet tho, and the banking
mechanism will need hooking up but the initial banks should be
correct. [David Haywood]

- vsnes.c: Documentation update and corrects several roms names. Added
set information to game names where possible. Tried to correction
region information by copyright.
[Mark F., Brian Troha, The Dumping Union]

- yiear.c: Correct rom labels [Smitdogg, The Dumping Union]

hooked up. [hap]

- "Analog" Pokey Update [Couriersud]
* Derived internal resistance calculation from Pokey documentation.
This is a 4-bit parallel resistor (High-Z mos "devices") network
to ground. The result is a non-linear resistance function.
* Added low-pass filter support and opamp/resistor stages to the
pokey driver. This is not as good as complete discrete emulation,
but a lot better than the linear approximation we had before.
* Changed a couple of drivers to use the new output volume
calculation.
* Added device configuration macros. Made all drivers use them.

the Worlds (color) [wotwc]. Both display types now only need the one
sample set (wotw). [Tafoid]

VBA-M est un projet dérivé du projet VisualBoy Advance qui est maintenant inactif, dont le but est d'améliorer la capacité et les fonctionnalités de l'émulateur avec:

  • Improved Save Handling
The original vba lacked support for the tiny save files created by games like Kirby's tilt and tumble and Final Fantasy Legends.
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal RTC data is also handled more accurately, resolving the case in 1.7 where you had to reset the clock on every start (A save patcher is available to fix these saves if they were created with 1.7)
  • Improved Archive Support
ROM images can now be packed with LZMA/LZMA2 7zip, which provides a much better compression ratio for Gameboy(Advance) games.
  • Improved Input Capabilities
You can now map multiple buttons / devices in the input screen, The bug with certain controls having their AXES wrong in 1.8beta is also resolved.
  • New built-in Pixel Filters
ASM versions of the HQ3x and 4x, and LQ2-4x filters for better filtering on large screens.
  • KEGA Fusion Filter Plugin Support
Filters created in this format can also be used if you find one better than the built in filters.
  • Multithreaded Direct3D
Improves performance when using the heavier filters such as HQ4x.
  • Fixed Vsync for Direct3D
The Fullscreen menu was removed to resolve a condition where the buffer was unable to lock, resulting in no vsync being applied and causing very noticeable tearing.
  • ARM Thumb Optimised
Several ARM Thumb optimisation patches from the original project that were never applied to trunk are also implemented, including a fix for the flickering in v-rally that the patch caused.
  • Blargg's GB_APU
This improved the sound in many games, and provided the ability to filter out the clicking in some GBC titles. (Anyone with an understanding of the GBA Voice 3 Banks who wants to help resolve some sample issues can contact us)
  • OpenAL and XAudio support
On Windows Vista and 7, directsound was showing some perceivable audio lag, the OpenAL and Xaudio API's allow us to get lower latency audio on these operating systems.
  • UPS Patch support
For use with games like Mother3, whose translation patch was provided as a UPS file.
  • JoyBus support
For use with Dolphin-emu, for games like Four Swords Advanced which use the gameboy advance as a controller.
